Gas turbine lube oil level was deceasing continuously and tend to reach S/D set pointThe gas turbine lube oil is experiencing a significant decrease in its level. An external oil leakage has been identified on the mechanical components of the gas turbine, specifically at the Variable Inlet Guide Vane (VIGV) ram connection.
Bandpass vibration trend of the gas turbine at the GGI and GGC positions has stepped up and fluctuated with wide range when GG speed was below 7350 RPM Spectrum plot was analyzed and found the main cause of vibration is from the machine operating speed 1X. After increased GG speed over 7350 RPM, The vibration of GGI and GGC was decreased and remained stable. Spectrum plot shown the amplitude of 1X RPM was reduced. System’s Stiffness might be change (Front support, Rear support or Spring support)
Our service engineer spotted abnormal axial movement of Lean Solvent Circulation Pump’s Thrust Position after the machine started up. Axial displacement probe indicated the rotor travel 0.229 mm toward the active thrust bearing, which already exceeds its specification at 0.127 – 0.178 mm. Thrust bearing temperature was also slightly increased by 1 degree C correspondingly. The alert and recommendation are issued to inspect the thrust bearing and adjust rotor endplay. This can prevent the rotor from running with excessive axial movement and ensure the pump can operate at the rotor center, which provides maximum performance.
